The Impact of Workflow Systems on Organizations A literature review

Although many companies invest in the implementation of workflow systems to automate, streamline and improve their business processes, only few studies have investigated the actual impact such systems make on the organization. The aim of this paper is to present an overview of literature on the impact that these systems have on the operational processes and the organization in a broad sense; from operational efficiency to cultural change and economical value.
